Hotel de Vischpoorte ligt direct aan de hieronder genoemde wandelroutes en is één van de meest populaire hotels in Deventer. De omgeving van Deventer is bij uitstek geschikt om te wandelen. De rivier de IJssel is één van de mooiste rivieren van Nederland. Wandelen in het rivierenlandschap is een ervaring om nooit te vergeten.
De IJsselvallei route van de NS wordt heel vaak gewandeld en deze route loopt pal langs Hotel de Vischpoorte. Deventer en Hotel de Vischpoorte liggen precies tussen Zutphen en Olst in. Wandelaars die hotels voor de IJsselvallei zoeken maken vaak een tussenstop in Deventer en in Hotel de Vischpoorte. Een hotelovernachting in ons hotel tijdens uw wandeltocht door de IJsselvallei maakt de wandeling nog specialer.

Our rooms
We are a beautiful cityhotel with 12 different rooms/apartments. Our rooms are equipped with a lot of extra’s like a nespresso coffeemachine with free cups, free internet access, interactive flatscreen tv, a sofa, a kitchenette or complete kitchen. Most of the rooms have a beautiful view over de square, church or river “de IJssel”. You feel easily at home with us and we are looking forward to give you a warm welcome.
Parking
The hotel has a limited number of parking lots which you can book online. You can also give us a call or send us an email to book a parking lot. The costs are € 15,- per day (from 13:00 – 13:00 o’clock) and per car.
You can also park on the squares around the hotel like “de Nieuwe Markt” or “het Grote Kerkhof”. The tariffs are € 2,50 – € 5,00 per hour. For a day ticket, they charge you € 25,- per car.
On the other side of the river, you can park free of charge and cross the river by ferry. The hotel is 20 meters away from the ferry dock. The ferry goes from 8:00 – 23:00 hours during the week, on Saturday from 9:00 – 23:00 hours and on Sundays and holidays from 10:00 – 23:00 hours. The rate is € 1,50 for a return ticket or € 1,00 for a single ticket.
Locations of our accommodations
The special characteristic of our hotel is the beautiful locations of our accommodations. The rooms and apartments are always in the center of Deventer, within walking distance of all sights, restaurants and shopping streets. Our hotel is located in the quarter “Het Noorderbergkwartier”. This is the oldest part of the monumental city centre Deventer. You can click on Google Maps map to see where each room is located and the photos and the virtual tour show how the rooms and apartments look like.
About Deventer
The hanseatic city of Deventer is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands and a very nice shopping city.
Already in the year 768 an Anglo-Saxon missionary built a wooden church on the banks of the IJssel. This missionary’s name was Lebuïnus. With the arrival of Lebuïnus, the foundation of the city of Deventer was a fact. The hotel is 100 meter away from the Lebuïnus church.
And Deventer is also the best shopping city! There are many monumental streets and alleys with various boutiques and shops. And Deventer also has a large number of catering establishments. Delicious food in the squares or in a small restaurant in a pittoresque street. Restaurants, theaters, film house, cinema, dance cafés, cosy and trendy bars, live music hall, we have it all.
If you do not like shopping, you can also make a city walk (Tuesday to Sunday) with or without a guide or stroll along the IJssel, the most beautiful river of the Netherlands.
The city is also famous for the major events taking place in the historic city center such as Deventer on stilts, Deventer Book Market and the Dickens Festival.
And you do not need the car once you have arrived because everything is on walking distance from the hotel.
